The Devil's playground

The Devil's playground

"Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."
Ephesians 6:11(NIV)

In the last chapter of Ephesians the author (Apostle Paul) encourages or warns (depending on how you look at it) the christians there at Ephesus to put on the full armor of God and goes into description on all the parts of the armor and what they are for.

One verse stands out to me and that is the verse above, because it gives us the reason we need to wear armor(spiritually speaking)-"so we can take our stand against the devil's schemes."
This tells me that the devil is going to do whatever it takes to deceive, destroy, trick, confuse, and disable us. He's a schemer and is going to do whatever it takes to keep us from living for God and living in God.

Most of us go through life not even considering the fact that Satan is alive and well in this world and is dressing himself up in all sorts of ways to get us off track and sometimes it's in pretty presentations and packages, looking good on the outside and far away, but close up it's false, fake, and a trap.

It seems whenever I am trying to do the right thing, use my talents for God, or follow His will that satan is working overtime to discourage or deceive me. It is when I am doing nothing, being lazy, or losing my focus that I make Satan's job easy. Satan doesn't have to work too hard on us, if we are doing the work ourselves. Satan has to work hard when we are praying, reading the Word, and striving to use our talents and life for God's kingdom and work.

Satan schemes to destory our witness, attitude, relationships, time, and motivation. He has lost the battle for being more powerful that God. He has lost the battle of Sin, and He has lost the battle of death. God has already won and defeated Satan, so we already know the ending, but in this rat race life, we get fooled into satan's tricks. Satan is a sore loser, He knows the end is destruction and HELL, so he wants to take as many people down with him.

So, we are in a daily battle. We are in a WAR for our soul. Be prepared, cautious, aware, and sensitive to Satan's scheme's and don't give him a foothold in your life.
