moving

MOVING

Moving is always stressful, tiring, and emotional. Even if you are excited about it, looking forward to a new opportunity, and everything goes smooth you still have different feelings and emotions about moving. You might be ready or relieved for a fresh or new start, but it's still not easy leaving the relationships you have built with people you have come to love.

I think i've found in life no matter whether it is moving locations, states, jobs, dating relationships, or churches that moving takes sacrifice. It really makes me think of the way God calls us to sacrifice in our lives in order to serve Him. We must sometimes make tough choices in order to do the right thing or the better thing. Sacrifice is not easy, but rewarding.

I learned a long time ago in the military that freedom is not free. You give up certain things in order to defend freedom in the military and making sacrifices and tough choices in life are that way. I had to leave people I've grown to love in order to be back home and close to people I loved.

I think the key for all of us to remember is that in life sometimes your going to have to sacrifice some things, maybe your pride, maybe more money, maybe packing up and moving on, or even ending a relationship because it's not meant to be or unhealthy?

God doesn't call us to be perfect, live happily ever after, or that being a Christian means our life will be all rainbows and riches, but it does call us to sacrifice, but sacrifice brings about deeper love, devotion, purpose, and fulfillment in our lives.

I don't know what God is calling you to sacrifice today or what sacrifices He will be requiring tomorrow, but I pray that you are faithful, that you are obedient, and that you keep your heart and soul on the big picture and the eternal rewards.

"offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God...this is your spiritual act of worship."
Romans 12:1b(NIV)
